CBS Blackspot Monitoring

QMS FoodTECH approaches the monitoring of Citrus black spot (Guignardia citricarpa) by using accurate weather data obtained from weather stations and spore traps strategically placed in orchards. Potential infection periods as well as ascospore releases are constantly recorded using real-life conditions found in the orchard rather than predictive models alone.

Weekly feedback reports, as well as regular summary reports, are sent to give citrus producers an indication of danger periods. This allows for better planning of corrective action.
